We’ve all been hurt at some time by someone we love, someone we trusted. Those negative words and actions against us can be easy to hold on to. The problem is, if you hang on to them, there’s less space for the good memories. Rehashing the negative serves no good purpose. It just keeps you perpetually hurt.
Clean out your inventory of wrongs, slights, and emotional wounds. Purge yourself of the negative and open up the windows to let the fresh, easy breeze of good memories and thoughts in. Focus on these things, focus on the beauty in life, focus on the truth and what is right, and it will change your outlook on life.
Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. – Philippians 4:8
